Reconquista

The roots of this style lie in the middle ages of Europe,
when parts of Spain were occupied by the Moors. The precursor of
Baraqah was brought with the Moors in their conquest, and over
time many of the early techniques were incorperated with some
local fighting and wrestling traditions. These arts remained long
after the Moors were gone, and they eventually developed in
secluded corners of Southern spain into a concrete fighting
style. It is assumed that it is in this style that the man
currently known only as Balrog originally studied, and that his
martial art is really an offshoot of this one. The influence of
this art is clearly visible in Balrog's and the "Spanish
Ninjitsu" title which is used by many to refer to it is clearly a
misnomer. A number os secret societies and clans exist in Spain
which are dedicated to this art, and to opposing the activities
of La Sociedad de la Rosa; and they are the only groups keeping
the art alive.
